Abstract: 8910 A. Introduction
1. Background
Fish are considered a good test species for assessing aquatic toxicity because of their ecological and economic importance. While many fish species may be used in toxicity studies, the choice depends on the test objective, the species’ availability, and the ease of culturing and handling individuals. This section provides guidance for selecting, culturing, and testing fish in aquatic toxicity studies.
Other toxicity test methods for fish are available.1–6
