The developers of the Standard Methods website (“Site”), the Water Environment Federation (WEF), American Water Works Association (AWWA) and American Public Health Association (APHA) (collectively the “Organizations”, “we”, or “us”), work hard to ensure that the information and materials provided on the Site are accurate and complete. However, it is possible that the information may change prior to this Site is updated, and/or those errors or omissions may occur. We welcome your suggestions on how to improve this Site and correct errors.

Privacy

The Organizations respect the privacy of all individuals who visit the Site. When you visit our Site, we collect a limited amount of information on usage so we can improve the content and design of the Site. The Site will collect purchase and download information that is associated with individuals. We collect the Internet addresses of visitors, time of access, browser type, and web pages visited on an aggregate basis only. This information is used for internal review only. The pages viewed by an individual visitor are not tracked.

Technical discussion forums. The Site makes technical discussion forums available to subscribers. Please note that any information disclosed in these areas becomes public information. The Organizations do not endorse or control any information posted within these discussion forums. Use of information obtained from the discussion forums is voluntary and reliance on it should be undertaken after an independent review of its accuracy, completeness, efficacy, and timeliness. The Organizations are not liable for the information or consequences resulting from the use of the information provided. See the technical discussion forum area for a more detailed statement. The promotional email list will be shared by the Organizations solely. If you do not wish your email to be used to receive promotional and news information, please send us an opt-out request.

This Site allows users to opt-in or out to receive promotional newsletters. Subscriptions

1. Security. We work to protect the security of orders and subscriptions placed through the Site by utilizing SSL (secure socket layers) which encrypts the information you input. The contact information we collect is used to send the customer their order and/or subscription information. The financial information we collect is used to collect payment for the products and services purchased. Once the credit card information is processed, these organizations do not store that information on its site. Please note: As of October 2022, subscriptions to the Standard Methods website are processed by requesting an invoice from [email protected]. The invoice includes payment methods and instructions for making payments via credit card, check, wire transfer and purchase order. 2. Rights to use. Subscriptions to Standard Methods are non-transferable, and there are no refunds and no exchanges or returns for purchases. Subscriptions provide users the right to view and print the Standard Methods only. Authorized subscribers can use and/or print individual methods for their individual use only. Standard Methods cannot be photocopied; shared; uploaded to any other databases, sites, or platforms; or distributed in any other manner. . All other use of the Site, its Content and the Standard Methods is strictly prohibited without the express written permission of the Organizations. Any use outside the rights provided herein may subject the user to legal clams and damages. All questions on use should be directed to [email protected]

All rights, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, and service mark rights, to the text, logos and images on this Site are exclusively owned by the Organizations and are protected under the Trademark and Copyright laws of the United States, as well as other countries. ny downloading, reproduction or further distribution of any material appearing on this Site without prior written permission of the Organizations is strictly prohibited outside the Rights to use outlined above.

Requests to reprint published material should be in written form and should specifically state the item(s) to be reprinted, the proposed purpose, and proposed distribution of the reprints.
