Abstract: 9030 A. Introduction

This section contains specifications for basic microbiological laboratory equipment. Additional equipment needed to analyze specific microorganisms is discussed in the sections pertaining to those organisms. Perform and document laboratory equipment calibration and performance verification before initial use and on a routine basis thereafter to ensure proper and consistent functionality. Conduct and document maintenance at least annually, either in-house or via service contract, following manufacturer and analytical requirements. For testing and maintenance procedures related to quality control (QC), see Section 9020.
